Tilapia Fish Curry Recipe
Tilapia fish curry is made with different kinds of spices and love. In Bangladesh we have thousands of fishes and Tilapia is one of the most common fish to cook in every house. This tilapia fish curry does not take a long time to cook. It need quite a few ingredients to make it spicy and juicy.

- 7-8 Pieces Tilapia Fillets
- ½ cup oil (reuse after frying the fish)
- ⅓ tbsp Cumin
- 2 finely chopped shallots
- 2 chopped cube tomatoes
- 5 thai Chilli
- ½ tbsp red chilli pepper powder
- ⅓ tbsp turmeric powder
- ½ tbsp garlic and ginger paste (each)
- ⅓ tbsp cumin powder
- ⅓ tbsp coriander powder
- salt (as needed)
- 1 cup water (add if needed)
- ½ chopped cilantro (for garnish)
Clean the Tilapia fish several times with salt and lukewarm water and rinse afterwards.
Use salt, red chilli pepper powder, turmeric to mix the fish and fry until it gives golden color.
Put aside the half fried fish, then use the same oil and pan to cook the rest. Now, add cumin, onion and bit of salt to sauté.
When the onion turns into golden, add garlic ginger paste and all the spices including salt. Steer for about a minute and then pour chopped cube tomatoes. Add small amount of water to let the spice cook and put the lid on for 3-4 minutes.
Once the oil comes out on top, add the half fried fish and water and put the lid on to cook it in medium temp.
Taste the salt and spice. Add thai chilli (make sure its cut in half) and chopped cilantro. Cook it for couple minutes to let the coriander and chilli flavour mix with the gravy.
Server it with steamed rice and enjoy the spiciness.
